Abrasive Blasting & Powder Coating Services
Other than our coatings, did you know that Bonehead Performance also specializes in abrasive blasting?
Abrasive blasting, AKA: “Sand Blasting,” is used to finish, clean or prepare metals using a variety of media in blasting machines and a blast room. Blasting removes surface debris such as rust or other types of residual contaminants and scale. This process is also important in the cleaning and roughening of part surfaces before coating. The increased surface adhesion of a suitably blasted part results in a stronger bond between the coating and the parts surface.
Bonehead Performance operates (2) Empire pressure cabinets and a fully contained blast room using a 350lb Empire pressure pot system. The cabinets we use are 36″ x 48″ ID and a 60 ” x 60″ ID. From Industrial to Automotive…we do it all. We can blast items as small as a nail to items as large as a car frame or larger. Due to the variety of items that come through the door, we do not have set pricing per item when doing abrasive blasting jobber work. We can usually ballpark a job for you but average times depend on:
- size & design
- cleanliness (no grease, grime or oil)
- how many coats the item currently has etc.
Each piece must be fully disassembled or additional charges will apply.
